Alpha Omicron Pi Update

N13911121_31728272_5600_1April has been an exciting month! Alpha Omicron Pi was honored to be named the 2005-2006 Chapter of the year at the Panhellenic/ Inter-Fraternity Council Greek Awards. We are also proud of our advisor Jess Cramer for being named Chapter Advisor of the year. This month we had AOII Days with our alumni and visited the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, and collected canned food items to donate. We also danced the night away at the Uptown World Theater for our spring formal. Finally we had fun at Spring Jam with our pairing of Alpha Omicron Pi, Alpha Gamma Delta, Phi Gamma Delta, Alpha Tau Omega, and Delta Tau Delta. We are proud of Michelle Cihon for being named Alpha Tau Omega’s Blue Angel, and Sammie Tousey for being named Sigma Alpha Epsilon’s Patty Girl. We are also very proud of all of our seniors and all their dedication and love throughout the years and we will miss them!

Pi Beta Phi Finishes up the year with Philanthropy

This past month has been an exciting month of philanthropy for Pi Beta Phi. We held our first every Brunch for Books at our house on April 22. Our Brunch for Books included all you can eat pancakes and eggs in support of the Minnesota Literacy Council. This event raised over $500 for the MN Literacy Council, and was all around a huge success! We ended the year with a great senior sendoff in honor of the hard work all of our seniors have done during the past four years for Pi Phi. Wishing them the best of luck in their new jobs, we will be keeping very busy this summer. This summer we will be hosting the annual Links to Literacy Golf Tournament. The proceeds from this philanthropy will also go towards the Minnesota Literacy Council. This is a great opportunity for us all to come together during the summer, enjoy the beautiful weather and raise money for a great cause-literacy! We are looking forward to the coming school year and cannot wait to see all the wonderful women going through recruitment!

Have a great summer!

Alpha Gamma Delta Update

Many women from our chapter have just returned from the “Pay it Forward Tour” put on by the student group “Students Today Leaders Forever” which was founded by our very own president Irene Fernando.  During the trip our women did service projects across the country  while riding a bus over spring break. In Washington DC the many busses met for a convention.  Alpha Gamma Delta has also been busy with the many other volunteer events such as “Feed My Starving Children” as well as having a sister-sorority exchange with Alpha Phi to make spring cards to send to local retirement homes.  For fun, we had our annual spring formal and International Reunion Day where we had the chance to reunite and reconnect with many of our present and alumni sisters.

Alpha Phi Update

Goldie_and_the_phis Alpha Phi has kept busy this spring. We recently won the Gopher Men's Gymnastic Challenge by having the most chapter participation at the men's home gymnastic meets. For winning the competition, the team donated $500 to the Alpha Phi Foundation. For a sisterhood, members of Alpha Phi volunteered for the PHC/IFC philanthropy Feed My Starving Children making bags of food to send to starving nations.

On a social note, Alpha Phi's spring formal was held April 8th on a boat on the St. Croix River. We've been keeping busy participating in numerous Spring Jam activities with our pairing; Phi Psi, Alpha Chi Omega, and Lodge. We also held a game night exchange with Sigma Chi and Kappa Sigma, as well as a barbeque with Sigma Nu.

Alpha Omicron Pi's Celebrate Phil Week Winners

March was a full month for Alpha Omicron Pi.  We hosted a successful Professor Dinner and had fun with our families on Parents Day.  Our Philanthropy Week was a success and with our first annual Pie-fest.  We really appreciated all the support from the Greek community.  We are excited for our new Philanthropy Omicron King Ben “Jammer” Bundul from Delta Upsilon and Prince Aaron Grahl from Phi Kappa Psi.  We also are proud of Erica Sendros for being named Phi Sigma Kappa’s new Moonlight Girl, Mandy Kritzeck for being named Delta Kappa Epsilon’s new Crush Queen, and Claire Flitcroft for being named one of Delta Upsilon’s Mississippi Queens.  We have had great informal recruitment so far this spring, and are happy to have 8 new members with us.  Congratulations also to Katie Thies for becoming the new Panhellenic VP of Recruitment!

Delta Gamma Update

Delta Gamma finished up the month of March with our Spaghetti Feed to raise money for our Philanthropy- Service for Sight.

For the month of April we are looking forward to many fun and exciting events. To start off the month we are going to be having our Big Sis/Lis Sis revealing Monday, April 3rd followed by the initiation of 9 lovely new DG's on April 9th. In April we will also be having our Spring Formal which will be held on a boat on the St. Croix River. Also, we are all getting ready for all of the great event for Spring Jam at the end of the month.

Pi Beta Phi Announces Phil Breakfast

March started out with a great St. Patrick’s Day themed Crush Party.  We had a great time at O’Donnovan’s pub in downtown Minneapolis.  Pi Phi also volunteered at the Cystic Fibrosis 5K that was held on campus.  We helped out by passing out t-shirts and helping to register runners.  On March 31-April 2, we hosted Pi Phi’s Regional Director, Sue Robinson.  We had a very beneficial weekend meeting with Sue and our AAC in order to better serve our executive positions.  In April, Pi Phi will have our first ever breakfast for our philanthropy, Links to Literacy.  At the end of April, Pi Phi’s young and old will come together to celebrate Founder’s Day.

Gamma Phi Beta Update

The ladies of Gamma Phi Beta are preparing for a busy month! We just initiated eight wonderful new members and are excited to welcome them into our sisterhood. Our annual Kris K run/walk is to be held on April 2, and we hope for a big turnout from the Greek community. We also have our Porch King week coming up, with a tator-tot feed philanthropy scheduled on Friday, April 7, from 10 pm-2 am - come and get all the tots you can eat for only $5!!! Later in the month, we have an exchange with Sigma Nu, where we will be going to make food packages at Feed My Starving Children. And of course, we are all getting pumped for Spring Jam and our theme, "Greeks in Black".
